Sauce or Gravy: The Endless Debate!

When we were growing up, there were many arguments at the kitchen table about what to call the red stuff we put on spaghetti. Some were convinced it had to be called gravy! "This is the tradition in the house! You can't go against tradition! In fact our grandparents called it gravy. It is gravy!"

Others felt, we should go with the mainstream. "Gravy is a liquid given off by meat. It can only be only called sauce."  The argument continues to this very day!

My mom called the other day to discuss pizza. She made a point of telling me
that when Auntie Anna makes pizza, she uses gravy instead of canned tomatoes.
"Hey, listen" she said, "it just tastes better"! So from my mom to you, here is some advice. 
"When you make that pizza, use gravy instead of canned tomatoes. It will just taste better!"
