I recently visited Jon F. at his home in Westerly,
Rhode Island. He shared with me an unusual pizza
called Grandmother's Pizza.
This pizza, made by the Pizza Lady in Pawcatuck is
truly unique. This is a very unusual type of pizza.
Whenever there is a party in Westerly or Pawcatuck,
Grandmother's pizza is brought to share with the
party.
This is a different type of pizza.
A little thicker, with just a tomato sauce topping.
The pizza is served in sheets and
cut in squres.
This pizza
reminded me of the pizza I would get at bakeries in
the Providence, Rhode Island area. These pizzas were
square and served in sheets. There was mimimal
amount of cheese. They were topped with a slightly
sweet, slightly spicy tomato sauce. Unusual pizza,
tue, but still very good. |

have it. Simple, easy and straight forward.
If you are
interested in taking your pizza to the next level
I highly recommend that you invest in a
pizza peel and a
Pizza Stone
.
Don't be
intimidated about using a pizza stone or peel.
As with anything else it just takes a bit of practice to master.

Make sure that you put enough flour or cornmeal underneath your
dough so it won't stick.
