1. pizza.com sells for 2.6 million, pizzatherapy.com = $$$? I was completely shocked when pizza.com recently sold for 2.6 million. Here's the real story: Chris Clark registered the name in 1994. He faithfully paid the yearly registration fee of $20.00 Now Chris isn't a pizza man, as a matter of fact, he probably doesn't even know how to make pizza...He was just hoping to do some pizza consulting. Pizza consulting? And he sells a website domain for 2.6 million? He was totally surprised at the winning bid. "It's crazy, it's just crazy" he was quoted as saying. pizza.com went for 2.6 million. I just noticed that therapy.com is now for sale. OK,
I'm thinking, and (that's always dangerous....)
2. Pizza University Class: Jon Arena helps UNLV Make Pizza History I recently received an e-mail from John Arena of Metro Pizza, in Las Vegas. John writes: Dear
Albert, Your site is fantastic. I have been a pizzaiolo since 1967 The students are Hospitality majors and they have been fantastic so far (we are in week 5). this class is limited to 15 students, but the department head told me they have had dozens of students and faculty members trying to get in after it filled up in just 20 minutes. Obviously, as you have noted, people are attached to pizza in a way that is quite different from other foods. This class is an expansion of a monthly pizza class we have been teaching in our pizzerias for several years. My Response: Thank
you John. Your class sounds incredible. I certainly would like to hear
more about it. John agreed. Here is a copy of: Impizzacredible!
3. Weird Pizza Gadget: Is it a pizza box or a laptop case? Everyone once in a while someone comes up with idea so innovative, so amazing, it just tips an entire industry on it's ear. I tried myself with the Pizza Therapy T-shirt / Dust Cover Combo. Do you remember that one? (OK so the idea never really caught on...I still coulda been a contender!) But fear, not innovation is not dead, it's only resting... The folks over at Human Beans have created such a device. It's a laptop bag that looks like a pizza box. Here's the concept: You put your valuable lap top in a case that is disguised to look like a genuine pizza box. That way, no self-respecting lap top thief would ever consider stealing a pizza box. Have peek at the laptop case/ pizza box in action. Give the animation a couple of seconds to load...Wait for it, wait for it....there!
Oh
well...Could I interest you in a
